The scenery was definitely the highlight for me. Coming into the sounds was really beautiful, and even though I felt like I was rushing around a bit, I still managed to grab some nice photos.
The actual trip was just okay though. Boarding took a while, then it felt like everyone was hurrying to find seats, and the ferry itself seemed a little worn inside. The food was also expensive for what it was.
I booked it hoping for a calm, relaxed crossing, but it ended up feeling more stressful and rushed than I expected. The views were great, but the comfort and overall experience didn’t really match that

Booked assistance for my mum and it all went smoothly. The staff was really kind, helped with the ramp and got her settled in her seat without any fuss. It made the ferry trip a lot less stressful for both of us.

The coffee was way better than I expected, almost suspiciously good for something served onboard. The pies tasted fresh too, which had me wondering what kind of secret supply chain they’ve got going on back there. Not complaining though—decent food and great coffee made the trip a lot better.

I had a really nice trip with Interislander. i was expecting the usual ferry setup where it feels like they’ve tried to squeeze in as many people as possible, but the seating was actually way better than I thought. There was plenty of room, the seats were comfy enough to properly relax, and I didn’t feel cramped even with my bag beside me. It was also easy to find a quieter spot and just look out the window. Made the whole crossing feel really chilled.

The toilets and seating areas stayed really clean the whole trip, which was a nice surprise for such a busy ferry. No complaints at all lol.

Maybe it’s just me, but the whole boarding process felt really slow, and getting off the plane seemed to take longer than it should have too

I have to give credit where it’s due, the ferry was on time both ways. No random delays, no standing around wondering what’s going on, none of that usual travel nonsense that somehow always eats up your day. It was reliable, straightforward, and a bit refreshing. Happy overall.
